Amplify A|E|C 2024 was nothing short of extraordinary! This year’s SMPS annual conference set a new standard, energizing attendees with cutting-edge insights, unparalleled networking, and a vibrant spirit that carried through every session and event. From the inspiring keynotes to the lively sessions and the unforgettable Camplify experience, this conference proved to be one for the ages. Here’s a look back at the highlights that made Amplify A|E|C 2024 an unforgettable event.

Wednesday marked the start of an incredible journey as attendees from around the globe gathered for pre-conference workshops. The day kicked off with the Business Development Symposium, followed by insightful sessions on emerging trends in A/E/C marketing, tech tools like InDesign and Photoshop, and an exclusive Fellows Session on the power of influence.
In keeping with the conference’s camp theme, the "Amplify Everything: First Timers Experience" gave newcomers a warm and engaging introduction. Through games, tutorials, and badge-earning activities, first-time attendees gained the tools they needed to amplify their conference experience right from the start.
The opening program took the excitement up a notch with Duncan Wardle’s session, "Embedding a Culture of Innovation and Creativity into Everyone’s DNA." Duncan captivated the audience with his message about the transformative power of curiosity, playfulness, and mindfulness. He challenged everyone to break free from conventional thinking and explore fresh, innovative ideas.
Then came the big announcement: Marci D. Thompson was introduced as SMPS’s new CEO! Marci shared her inspiring vision for the future, setting the tone for the exciting changes ahead. You can watch her full speech at Amplify below.
As the day wrapped up, attendees headed to their first breakout sessions, followed by a warm welcome reception in the exhibit hall, sponsored by Open Asset. It was the perfect ending to a dynamic first day.

The buzz from Day 1 carried over into Thursday as Damion Morris, CPSM, kicked off the morning with his electrifying session, "Unicorn Alchemy: Turning Your Uniqueness into Gold." Damion’s powerful MAXtalk challenged attendees to unlock their inner magic, followed by a dynamic panel discussion with AEC marketing trailblazers who shared their journeys of audacity and innovation. The recognition program that followed was a celebration of achievement and excellence. From welcoming new CPSMs to honoring Fellows with their medallions, the ceremony highlighted the exceptional talent within the SMPS community. A standout moment was Pearl-Grace Pantaleone, CPSM, Assoc. DBIA, accepting the 2024 Chapter President of the Year award with a heartfelt speech. The prestigious Weld Coxe Marketing Achievement Award was presented to Frank Lippert, FSMPS, CPSM, who shared his reflections in a touching interview and acceptance speech. Lunch brought everyone together for the SMPS Awards Luncheon, where Salt Lake City’s RoLynne Hendricks and Matt Rich hosted the Marketing Communications Award (MCA) program. From advertising to brochures, the M Awards celebrated the best of the best. New awards debuted, including Emerging Leader of the Year, Business Developer of the Year, and Marketing Innovation Firm of the Year, setting a fresh benchmark for excellence in the industry. The next Marketer will highlight all awards recipients in detail.
The day concluded with the much-anticipated Camplify Networking Experience. From creating friendship bracelets to enjoying cornhole and mega chess, attendees connected in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. With photobooths, s’mores, and plenty of laughter, the night was a networking success story.

Friday opened with Dr. Paula Stamp, MBA, FSMPS, CPSM, sharing her vision as the incoming Society President. Her insights were followed by a forward-thinking panel discussion on how AI is reshaping A/E/C trends and the future of the industry. Janet Lively McCauley, CPSM, President of the SMPS Foundation Board of Trustees, reminded everyone of the Foundation’s mission to provide insights that empower growth professionals and leaders to thrive in a competitive marketplace. The conference closed with a powerful keynote by Denise M. Thomas on "Motivating High Performance: Understanding and Embracing How Communication Aligns with Business Growth." Denise’s session emphasized that relationship building is key to driving both vision and innovation, leaving the audience with actionable takeaways to elevate their professional and personal lives.
