SMPS is pleased to announce the winners of its 2024 Marketing Communications Awards (MCA) program. The MCA Awards of Excellence, Merit Awards, Best of Show and People’s Choice Award, were presented during the SMPS Awards Luncheon on July 25th at Amplify A|E|C in Salt Lake City. In its 47th year the MCAs is the longest-standing, most prestigious awards competition that recognizes excellence in marketing communications produced by professional services firms in the design and building industries. The program provides an unparalleled opportunity for professionals to showcase their best marketing practices and to educate the industry about the critical role of marketing in a successful firm. This competition is open to SMPS members and nonmembers employed in the US and international professional services firms.

2024 People’s Choice Award

For the SMPS MCA People’s Choice Award, all finalist entries are displayed in the MCA Gallery and voted on by conference attendees, SMPS members, and the general public alike.  This year, the award was given to Consor for their Award of Excellence winning Intranet site entry, Beacon.
In 2022, Consor successfully unveiled a refreshed brand after acquiring and merging nine firms, thus revamping their image. However, the internal division still existed. The Consor leadership team shifted focus toward internal communications and their segmented intranets—some acquired firms already had an intranet, others did not. The Consor team sought to introduce a new platform to unify teams by consolidating content from nine firms into a single user-friendly system.

BHC Billboard Advertising, Advertising Merit Award

BHC’s marketing staff excels at relationship marketing, fostering long-lasting partnerships and establishing professional connections within the A/E/C industry and beyond.
The team Strategically selected two billboards in the Kansas City region for a campaign that cycled four messages. BHC targeted high traffic areas into downtown Kansas City and Overland Park, Kansas. This choice not only maximized impressions and impact, especially in areas significant to our client base and headquarters, but also demonstrated our involvement in local communities and the industry, effectively increasing the company’s visibility.
